Sambal Okra

I love Okra very much. So this is something really simple, easy and delicious Sambal Okra to satisfy my tummy. Enjoy

Ingredients
15 Okra (top and tip trimmed)
5 tbsp Sambal Oelek
2 tbsp oil
10 cloves garlic (chopped)
1tsp belacan (toasted)
1-2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp thick soy sauce (optional)

Methods

  1. Heat up the oil in the pan/wok. Once the oil is hot, add in the garlic and stir fry for 30 seconds. 
  2. Then add in the sambal oelek, thick soy sauce, belacan and sugar.
  3. Continue to stir fry until the sambal started to get thicken.
  4. Add in the okra and continue to stir fry until it is cooked. If you want it softer, then let it cook a little longer.
Ready to serve.

  1. A new tip I just learnt: add some vinegar to the boiling water, the okra will be green and crunchy!! Amazing!
