Sambal Ikan Bilis (Sambal Anchovies)

Sambal Ikan Bilis is something i love to make when i don't know what to eat because it will have all the flavour i want, sweet, salty and spicy. I love the fact i can just eat it with rice or just have it with bread. Either way, it will definitely satisfy my tummy. This is my easy recipe of Sambal Ikan Bilis ( the cheat method).

Ingredients
6 tbsp sambal oelek
1 cup of anchovies
1 medium size onion (sliced)
6 cloves of garlic (chopped)
2 tsp sugar
1tsp thick soy sauce (optional)
Enough oil to fry the anchovies

Methods
  1. Fry anchovies in a medium to low heat in a pan until it turn golden. Set aside
  2. In a new pan, heat up about 2 tbsp of oil ( use the oil that used to fry the anchovies).
  3. Once the pan and oil is hot, stir fry the garlic and onion for about 30 seconds, then add in sambal oelek and continue to stir fry the sambal oelek until it is slightly thick.
  4. Add in the thick soy sauce.
  5. Add in the anchovies and the sugar and stir fry for another minute.
Ready to serve.
