Yau Mak with Oyster Sauce


Growing up in Penang, my grandmama definitely make sure we will have at least 1 vegetable dish. Yau Mak with Oyster Sauce is one of my many favourites that my grandma used to make for me and the family. Below is the simple recipe. Enjoy :)


Ingredients
2 bunch of Yau Mak ( Romaine Hearts)
6 cloves of garlic (chopped)
4 table spoon of oyster sauce
Oil
Water

Method
Heat up oil in a pan and fry the chopped garlic till golden brown. Put aside the fried garlic.
In a pot of boiling water, cook Yau Mak for a 2-3 mins. If you want it softer, then cook in the boiling water longer. Drained Yau Mak using the strainer. Then put in on the plate.
Pour the Oyster Sauce on top of Yau Mak.
Lastly garnish the dish with the fried garlic.
