Chinese Cabbage with Meatball Soup

Since young, i love to have chinese cabbage soup. My grandmama really knows how to make a good pot of chinese cabbage with meatball soup that will leave me wanting more and more and More. Especially the hot weather, the chinese cabbage soup is just good for us. Here is the recipe. Enjoy!



Ingredients for meatballs
1lb pork loin (minced)
4 cloves of garlic (minced)
4 tbsp of onion (minced)
1/2 tsp ginger (minced)
3 tsp sesame oil
3 tsp soy sauce
3tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp corn starch

Method
Mix all the ingredients well and keep it in refrigerator for at least 2 hours. ( the longer the better. Normally i keep it overnight)
Just before cooking, shape the ingredients into balls size about an inch each.

Ingredients for cabbage soup
about 8 to 12 leafs chinese cabbage (napa cabbage) cut into small pieces. approximately 2 inch
2 carrots (cut into wedges)
12 fish balls (optional)
1/2 onion (sliced)
6 shitake mushrooms (cut into halves)
15 cup of water
4 gloves of chopped garlic ( fry till it is golden brown and put aside)
2 tbsp oyster sauce
salt, pepper and sugar to taste

Method
Boil water in the pot till it is hot
Put in the pork balls and let it cook by it self for about 20 minutes
Add in carrots, onion, shitake mushrooms, fish balls and chinese cabbage and oyster sauce
Turn the fire to medium and let it cook for another 30 minutes
Salt, pepper and sugar to taste
Finally pour in the fried minced garlic
Ready to serve
