Now, i keep trying to recreate the dish at home but never succeeded. The below recipe is close but not perfect but it is good enough to temporary ease my craving here in US. I hope you too will enjoy the recipe.
Ingredients
1 fish fillet - tilapia
8 small size okra
4 tbsp Sambal Oelek (available in Asian Market)
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp thick soy sauce (optional)
1/2 tsp belacan (shrimp paste) toasted
1 tsp oil
Enough aluminium foil to wrap the okra and fish
Garnish
Wedges lime/lemon
Methods
- Mix sambal oelek, sugar, thick soy sauce and belacan in a bowl
- Heat up oil in the pan.
- Pour in the mixture and stir fry until the the paste is thick in medium heat
- Spread the sheet of aluminium foil on a flat surface

6. Pour the paste on top of the fish and okra. |
7. Wrap it tight and bake in the oven at 300 F for 30 mins |
