Stir Fry Asparagus Asian Style

I love Asparagus but i rarely buy it because i think it is pretty expensive. Few days ago, i was in 99cents store and they have it for a dollar a bunch. So i jumped right in to grab a bunch of asparagus. They even have fresh portabella mushrooms for a dollar (4 medium size) and red bell peppers (2 for a dollar). So today, i am happy that i can make this dish that i absolutely adore. Here is the recipe. Enjoy...

Ingredients
A bunch of asparagus (trimmed and cut into size of 2 inch)
4 cloves of garlic (chopped)
1/2 red bell pepper (sliced into 2 inch strips)
2 medium size portabella mushrooms (sliced)
2 tbsp oil
4 tsp oyster sauce
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp shao hsing wine
1 tsp rice vinegar
2-3 tbsp water
salt and pepper for taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in the pan. Once it is hot, stir fry the garlic for a minute or two.
  2. Put in the red bell pepper, portabella mushrooms and asparagus and continue to stir fry for another 3 to 5 mins. Add in water if you needed to.
  3. Put in oyster sauce, soy sauce, shao hsing wine, and rice vinegar and continue to stir fry until everything is consistent. Add in salt and pepper for taste.
  4. Ready to serve with a bowl of white rice.
