Longan Agar Agar (Jelly)

My grandma used to make this Longan Jelly for us during Chinese New Year or whenever we asked her to during super hot day because it was simply delicious and refreshing. So over the weekend, I got some of the ingredients and made it for my husband to try and he loved it! I hope you will enjoy it too.
Ingredients
1 can of Longan with syrup (separate the fruits with the syrup)
5 tbsp of sugar
4 cup of water
2 cup of longan syrup from the can
1/2 pack of agar agar (aproximately 5 gram) - soaked in the water for 20 to 30 mins

Methods
  1. Heat up water inthe pot.
  2. Once the water is boiling, pour in the longan syrup and sugar and let it cook till the sugar is dissolve.
  3. Add in the agar agar and let it cool until agar-agar is dissolve. Stir occasionally.
  4. Pour the mixture in the pan that already filled with longan.
  5. Let it cool on room temperature before move into refrigerator for 1 hour or more.
  6. Cut into pieces and serve.

  1. I think you may hv to add more agar agar strands. 5 grams are not enough - the resultant jelly is very watery.
